So my friend just brought in a deodorant sample from David's Bridal for me. She was looking for a bridesmaid dress for a wedding she'll be in and they were there for free. Now, this particular deodorant is something I haven't seen before called Dove cleartone - it's supposed to heal underarm skin that is darkened from damage due to shaving. I have this problem - it's like the lack of hair and maintenance required for my legs makes my underarm hair twice as bad. Anyways, I put it on without a second thought. And then I thought - this is the first time I've used deodorant in probably...maybe a year and a half? And I have not used it on a daily or even a consistant basis (outside of ultimate frisbee tournaments) in years. It's kinda awkward to tell people but I really haven't seen the need for me to use it daily. The biggest reason would obviously be that I don't think I smell. Hopefully if I did, someone would mention it to me, but I guess for now I don't need to use it. I could do it out of the slight social and cultural pressure I feel, but I also like saving money and it would be a waste.
Also, I'm house/teenager sitting for this family this week and it's pretty cool. I was worried because the teen is a 17 year old guy who is usually super quiet, but we bonded over video games and now I have nothing to worry about haha. It's even been good for me - I've been waking up an hour earlier to make sure he gets on the bus, and that gives me time after he leaves to go running. Seeing that it's doable will make it easier for me when I am back at my apartment.
