The challenge of all challenges.
I found out today via Facebook that today is the first day of Lent. This is better than my usual way of finding out, which is a few days later when I go to church and turns out it's a Lent service. So I'm already ahead of the game. Lent has become a time of challenge for me and this year is no different - I've noticed that the pattern in my life is to avoid doing things I don't want to do. This isn't in a normal way, it's in a way that's blocking me from being a responsible adult. I don't want to go grocery shopping, I don't want to keep my room clean, I don't want to get up early and remember to take out the garbage, I don't want to pack early so that I won't be up late and stressed, I don't want to look at legit credit card options, I don't want to do my taxes, I don't want to get my car fixed. I basically don't want to get up and do things because I'm lazy. Actually part of this is because I'm not getting good sleep, and part of that is because right before bed I'm either playing video games or on the computer. So two-parter. I will give up my unprioritized way of life, and I will get off all electronics an hour before bed. That means now - good night!
